Tom grew up in rural West Virginia; Betty came from a military family and relocated from her father’s last post at Guantanamo, Cuba, to West Virginia, where he managed the family’s business affairs. By the time they met in high school, Tom already had one Model A, a well worn 1931 pickup, that provided transportation to and from school and part-time jobs. He soon acquired a second. Tom joined the Army, Betty went off to college, and they were married in 1968. Both cars were sold to make room for life. Tom retired in 2004 and had already begun the search for another Model A. Daisy Ford joined the family in 2005 and life has not been the same since. Betty has retired, they have made many new friends in the old car hobby and even acquired another Model A. They enjoy being grandparents and anything that involves a Model A.
