Johnnie and Wyvonne are both native Georgians, he from Dalton and she from Carrollton. Johnnie came to Carrollton in 1971 to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and he and Wyvonne were married the following year. John states that he, “has always been a car nut,” owning some that are now considered collector cars. His interest in Model A’s began when he reacquainted himself with an old friend he met in college who had a beautiful 1929 Sport Coupe. Soon after, he bought his first Model A from the internet and later a sedan from a college student who had inherited it. The Hobbs have a son, (who is also car crazy), a daughter, and three grandchildren that love cars and go on tours with the family. Johnnie and Wyvonne recently became members of the Southside A’s and enjoy the group, the tours and other club activities very much.
