Fred and Kathy Huey were born and raised in Woodstock, Ga and married in 1987. As a boy, Fred became interested in anything mechanical; taking apart lamps and whatever else he could get his hands on. It was a Fiat Spider that started him off on his present occupation, as an airline engine and airframe mechanic. His career has included stints at Lockheed, the Space Shuttle program, and Delta where he worked as an aircraft mechanic until his retirement in 2012. He has also worked on the restoration of a 1936 Lockheed Model 12 aircraft, which is now completely restored, and was used in the movie “Amelia.” Kathy graduated from Emory University and has a Master’s degree in Theology from Spring Hill College in Mobile. She is currently the Director of Religious Education at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Newnan. Kathy has a passion for family, reading about history and theology, and travel, particularly to the British Isles… for her the “holy land”, aka Ireland. Kathy jokes that she has only two horses while Fred has 640 counting their two Model A’s, a ’36 Fordor and a ’55 Chevy truck. The two love the camaraderie of the Southside A’s and the wonderful tours.
