Larry was born and raised in Oil City, PA. His father was mechanically inclined and passed on that interest to Larry. During his early years Larry developed his mechanical skills working on and repairing various equipment under the direction of his quadriplegic father. His college years resulted in a BA in English, and a Masters degree in Health Services Administration, the basis for the profession he followed. In 1970, Larry restored a 1948 Ford Tudor Sedan, flathead V8, but he says that his interest in antique cars resulted from his marriage to Jackie. Jackie was born and raised in Atlanta, and during her teen years, the family moved to Fairburn. In 1971, Jackie obtained her pilots license and began a years-long hobby that included many adventures and exciting trips. Jackie and her first husband, Charles, were actively involved in the antique collecting and antique car worlds. The two of them restored a 1924 Model T that had belonged to Charles’s grandfather and had been stored in the family barn for more than 30 years prior to its restoration. Their love of old cars grew and included the purchase of a 1931 Deluxe Roadster in 1993. Jackie and Larry met in 2005, after Charles’s passing, through their mutual love of ballroom dancing. Larry has enjoyed sharing and growing their enthusiasm for the antique cars, as well as the preservation of the extensive antique and memorabilia collection. The two are also active members of the Horseless Carriage Club of America.
