Upon discharge, Jim entered Georgia State University and graduated with a BBA in 1973 and a Masters in 1983. Kim was born in Saigon, Vietnam and fled the country after the Communist takeover of the South. She arrived in the United States in 1984. She studied accounting at Atlanta Technical School and graduated with her accounting certificate. Jim and Kim were introduced by a mutual friend in Atlanta and married in 1988. They have two grown children living in the Atlanta area. Jim became interested in Model A’s when he was 13 years old. Living on a main road leading out of Atlanta in Chamblee, he would often see an old 1929 coupe heading down the road every evening. He would wait by the side of the road just to see it and the driver would always blow his “oooga” horn. One day, he thought he would have his own Model A. When he turned 60, he bought his roadster. He became involved in the Southside A’s when his car broke down and Ray Besch came to the rescue. This event has lead to great experiences and lasting friendships.
